Rites Set Friday
Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday for Frederick J. Scharlau, 87, Rice Lake native who returned here three years ago, who died Tuesday at Lakeside hospital after a long illness.
Rev. James Dabruzzi will conduct the rites at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Rice Lake and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled Thursday afternoon and evening at the Mason funeral home here, where a wake service will be held at 7:30.
Mr. Scharlau was born Sept. 18, 1886 in Rice Lake and was married here June 26, 1912 to the former Corabell Frasier.
The couple owned and operated the Lemington store at Lemington for 20 years. He also served as treasurer for the town of Couderay for many years. Since returning to Rice Lake the couple had lived at Riverside Arms.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Lucille Berget of Milwaukee; five sons, James, Edward and William of Milwaukee, Robert of Butler, Tenn. and Dale of Couderay; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.³
