Obituary Notes for Mary Helen | ||||||||||||
Funeral Services Monday for Mary Helen Eighmy, 86 Funeral services as announced today for Mrs. Mary Helen Eighmy, 86, one of Turlock's most colorful characters, and one of her oldest residents will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the J.W. Guy Funeral Chapel with Rev. N.W. Jennings and the Women's Relief Corps conducting the rites. Burial will be in the family's plot in Turlock cemetery. Mrs. Eighmy, who died at her home on Mitchell street, had lived here 24 years and was the widow of the late Obediah W. Eighmy who at the time of his death was Turlock's only surviving Civil War veteran. She was the mother of a Spanish War veteran, Jessie C. Eighmy, deceased. Mrs. Eighmy is survived by two brothers, two sisters and three daughters, Mrs. R.P. Rawlings, Mrs. Ella M. Johnson, both of Turlock, and Mrs. J.S. Stagg (continued on page eight) 4 | ||||||||||||
