Obituary |
Carl A. Steel, 79, 2716 Kipling Avenue, St. Louis Park, was killed Thursday in a one-car accident near Pembine, Wis.
Steel was former head of Steel DeSoto Ice Cream Co. of Minneapolis.
Authorities said Steel's wife, Florence, 75, was driving when the car hit a soft shoulder, went over an embankment and sideswiped a steel control box for an automatic railroad signal.
Steel was thrown out and died of internal injuries and a possible broken neck, police said. Mrs. Steel was treated for severe shock.
Steel was a Spanish-American War veteran and a member of Lake Harriet Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Zuhrah Shrine, Saddle and Bridle Club and Minneapolis Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Mr. Edward C. Gould, Wayzata, and Mrs. S. A. Towne, Chevy Chase, Md.4 |
